We take a clear and practical approach to psychology. We initially focus on understanding your needs and then providing a range of targeted treatments and strategies. These will be discussed with you during the assessment phase.
Therapy is collaborative and we work together to implement strategies that aim to resolve your concerns. Treatments we offer include cognitive behavioural therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, play therapy, schema therapy, imago therapy, solution focused therapy, motivational interviewing and psycho-educational techniques.
We adhere to confidentiality as detailed in our professional codes of conduct. We will not release information without your prior consent. At your request, psychologists at PsychCentral can consult on your behalf with schools, medical practitioners, dieticians, speech therapists, occupational therapists and other allied healthcare practitioners to collaborate and assist with your treatment progress. We will also make referrals wherever possible to ensure you are best matched with the most suitable specialist.
Length of therapy depends on your concern and together we will agree on a flexible treatment plan based on the goals you would like to achieve through therapy. As a general guide, therapy normally lasts between 8 to 15 sessions. Some people find that 3-4 sessions may be helpful enough.
